Highly asymmetric and facially amphiphilic compounds, cholic acid and its derivatives, form asymmetric bilayers with variable hydrogen bondi ng networks. The bilayers are stacked in various modes to produce dyna mical inclusion crystals suitable for molecular recognition and reacti on.
