Abstract
Reaction of Me(3)NH[B11H14] in aqueous NaOH with CuO or NiCl2 formed t he metallaborane anions Cu(B11H11)2(3-) Ni(B11H11)(2)(4-), respectivel y. NMR, XPS, and cyclic voltammetry results on some of these compounds are reported. A single-crystal X-ray structure determination of [N(n- Bu)(4)](3)[Cu(B11H11)(2)] has been completed (space group Pcnb, a = 43 .652(30) Angstrom, b = 23.221(13) Angstrom, c = 13.608(7) Angstrom, Z = 8).
