Mb. Watson et Gb. Stead, A LONGITUDINAL-STUDY OF CAREER DECIDEDNESS AMONG WHITE SOUTH-AFRICAN HIGH-SCHOOL-STUDENTS, Journal of vocational behavior, 45(3), 1994, pp. 261-269
A longitudinal study of the developmental nature of career decidedness
and the relation of grade, socioeconomic status, and gender to such d
ecidedness was undertaken on a sample of 214 white South African high
school students. The results of the study support a developmental prog
ression toward greater career decidedness for all students except thos
e who progressed from Grades 9 to 11. Socioeconomic status and gender
were not significantly related to career decidedness. The implications
of these results for future research and for the career education of
adolescents are considered. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
