The vapourization step in inert atmosphere of sulphur from individual
particles ore (8-12 mm), at temperatures higher than the melting tempe
rature (444.6 degrees C) was experimentally studied. For 10 mm particl
e diameter the specific vapourization rate is equal to the rate for th
e pure sulfur. The vapourization in air and burning rates of sulfur we
re experimentally determined for spherical particles (8-12 mm), togeth
er with sulphur yield and total combustion time. In the specified oper
ation conditions the sulphur vaporization rate is the limiting factor
in the combustion process.
