Ri. Stefan et al., ION-SELECTIVE MEMBRANE-ELECTRODE FOR IMIP RAMINE - CONSTRUCTION, ELECTROANALYTICAL CHARACTERIZATION AND PHARMACEUTICAL APPLICATION, Revista de chimie, 45(10), 1994, pp. 903-907
The paper presents the construction and the performance characteristic
s of a new membrane electrode selective to imipramine cation drug. The
construction is based on the used of the ion-pair association of imip
ramine hydrochloride and dinonylnaphthalenesulphonic acid embedded in
a PVC matrix. The electrode exhibits a near-Nernstian response in the
range 10(-2) - 10(-5) mol 1(-1) and a low detection limit of about 5x1
0(-6) mol 1(-1). It was studied its selectivity over a series of the p
otentially interfering species. The electrode response was independent
of pH in the range 2.5-5.0. The electrode can be used successfully fo
r the determination of imipramine hydrochloride in pharmaceuticals wit
hout any prior separation, with an average error of less than 1.00%.
