W. Weber et al., CALOPOROSIDE, A NEW INHIBITOR OF PHOSPHOLIPASES C FROM CALOPORUS-DICHROUS (FR) RYV, Journal of antibiotics, 47(11), 1994, pp. 1188-1194
A new salicylic acid derivative, caloporoside, was isolated from ferme
ntations of Caloporus dichrous. Its structure was elucidated by a comb
ination of chemical and spectroscopic methods. Caloporoside exhibits w
eak antibacterial and antifungal activities and is a quite selective i
nhibitor of phospholipase C isolated from pig brain (Ki 12, 3 mu M).
