Ta. Zhuravskaya et Va. Levin, THE PROPAGATION OF CONVERGING AND DIVERGING SHOCK-WAVES UNDER INTENSEHEAT-EXCHANGE CONDITIONS, Journal of applied mathematics and mechanics, 60(5), 1996, pp. 745-752
The motion of a gas with strong diverging shock waves, generated by su
pplying energy to the gas in accordance with a power law, and with con
verging shock waves in the cases of spherical and cylindrical symmetry
is investigated. It is suggested that the intense heat exchange ensur
es that the temperature is the same over the whole volume of the movin
g gas and equal to the temperature of the particles directly behind th
e shock wave, on which the laws of conservation of mass, momentum and
energy are satisfied. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
