Abstract
Potential flows in steady-state conditions are studied in detail in th e framework of the plane Broadwell discrete-velocity model of the Bolt zmann equation. It is shown that explicit exact solutions with physica l meaning can be obtained in terms of elementary or special functions. Previously discovered analytical incompressible flows are recovered a s particular cases. New solutions for compressible flows are classifie d and discussed.
