Abstract
The morphological and ultrastructural pollen characters of Dysopsis gl echomoides (Richard) Muell.-Arg. are studied to clarify the nature of the apertural region. This pollen type is remarkable in the tribe Acal ypheae and can be compared to that of Tragia capensis Thunb. in the Pl ukenetieae. The data support the separation of the genus into as own t ribe, and underscore certain affinities with the Mercurialinae.
