Abstract
The determination of ionic patterns in flax seed tissues was carried o ut using Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry imaging. Using Fast Atom Bomb ardment or the low current density O-2(+) probe we were able to image the ionic distributions in thick seed sections. The main cations exhib ited clear cut regionalization. Two classes of protein bodies differin g in their relative contents of potassium and calcium were observed.
