Abstract
Subject The extractive content of heart- and sapwood of larch in water and in ethanol/cyclohexane was determined. The results reveal that th e extract content in heartwood is much higher than in sapwood. The wat er extractives in heartwood increase with the age of the tree. However , the age seems to have no influence on the amount extracted by ethano l/cyclohexane.
