Abstract
Subject The properties of particleboards from heart- and sapwood of la rch bonded with a binder based on diisocyanate (PMDI) were evaluated. The results can be summarized as follows: Boards made from heartwood a re always of lower thickness swelling than sapwood boards. The interna l bond strength of the boards decreases with the age of the tree. Espe cially the V100-value is very low for heartwood boards from 102-year-o ld trees.
