Abstract
This paper presents experimental studies of the characteristics (inclu ding the noise) of high-temperature superconducting thin films and the ir detecting properties. It shows that it is possible to create a dete ctor with sensitive areas of 30x30 mu m and a noise equivalent power o f 5x10(-12) W/Hz(1/2). The ATP-47S broad-spectrum thermal viewer has b een developed for the first time with a detector based on the use of h igh-temperature superconductivity. (C) 1997 The Optical Society of Ame rica.
