Abstract
Taking advantage of an improved experimental method, a new (2) Pi(3/2- )(2) Sigma(18 145 cm(-1)) transition of NiF has been rotationally anal yzed. It gives a quantitative confirmation of the energy-level diagram published recently (C. Dufour, I. Hikmet, and B. Pinchemel, J. Mol. S pectrosc. 165, 398-405, 1994). An already analyzed band has been ident ified as a (2) Delta(5/2-)(2) Delta(5/2) transition and assigned in th e energy-level diagram. A table collecting all the parameters of the i dentified electronic states of NIF is included. (C) 1994 Academic Pres s, Inc.
