Abstract
A project to develop a linkage map of the peach (Prunus persica) genom e is underway using an F2 population segregating for several morpholog ical characters and pest resistance e.g., nectarine (g), weeping shape (pl) and aphid resistance (Rm1). The RAPD technique was used to analy se 270 plants. Linkage analysis of the F2 population was performed usi ng the MAPMAKER software. Eight linkage groups were established and RA PD markers flanking the pi gene were found.
