A. Michelitsch et al., DETERMINATION OF OXYBUTYNINE HYDROCHLORID E BY DIFFERENTIAL-PULSE POLAROGRAPHY, Monatshefte fuer Chemie, 125(11), 1994, pp. 1183-1187
A differential pulse polarographic (DPP) method was developed for the
determination of oxybutynine hydrochloride in Ditropan (R) tablets wit
hout interference from excipients. Oxybutynine reacts at the dropping
mercury electrode resulting in two irreversible peaks. Linearity betwe
en the oxybutynine concentration and the peak height was observed in t
he 2 x 10(-4)-2.5 x 10(-6) M concentration range. The detection limit
is 0.6 mu g/ml. The analysis of a series of 10 Ditropan (R) 5 mg table
ts showed a standard deviation of +/- 0.076 mg and a S-rel of +/- 1.53
%, respectively.
