Abstract
In this paper we describe a novel reaction, based upon sol-gel chemist ry to produce a high surface area aluminum phosphate (AlPO4, P/Al = 1) , in excess of 550 m2/g. We also report a very rare example of a sol-g el reaction which is thermally reversible. The sol particles can be re adily controlled, for example from 23 to 13 nm, by careful control of the chemistry.
