Abstract
A strong inverse correlation between ion pairing, determined by EXAFS, and the bulk ionic conductivity of amorphous poly(ethylene oxide)-CuC l2 polymer electrolytes, aPEO:CuCl2, is reported. The conductivity of the polymer electrolytes and the degree of ion pairing has been observ ed as a function of salt concentration. Cu2+-Cl- ion pairs were observ ed even in the most dilute polymer electrolyte (44 O:1 Cu2+).
