Crystal structure and the phase transformation behavior of perovskite-
type BaTiO3 and BaTiO3 ceramics with nanosized particulate SiC were in
vestigated by simultaneous measurements of internal friction and shear
modulus. The Curie temperature (T(c)) gradually decreased with increa
sing particulate SiC content. In addition, the low-temperature transfo
rmation disappeared at SiC content over 1 vol%. Diffused phase transfo
rmation (DPT) was observed as the SiC content increased up to 3 vol%.
