Ds. Asnis et Gs. Dhaliwal, BILATERAL STERNOCLAVICULAR JOINT SEPTIC ARTHRITIS PRESENTING AS CUTANEOUS ABSCESSES, Clinical infectious diseases, 19(5), 1994, pp. 964-966
The sternoclavicular joint can be involved in ankylosing spondylitis a
s well as in rheumatoid and degenerative arthritis. Septic arthritis o
f this joint is infrequently seen, and the diagnosis of this infection
can be missed until it presents with a complication. We describe a pa
tient with bacteremia whose presentation of bilateral sternoclavicular
joint septic arthritis was multiple cutaneous abscesses on her chest
wall.
