N. Kuhn et al., ON THE REACTION OF CARBENE ADDUCTS OF CAR BON-DISULFIDE WITH BROMINE AND IODINE, Zeitschrift fur Naturforschung. B, A journal of chemical sciences, 49(11), 1994, pp. 1473-1480
The carbene adducts 3 are obtained as stable solids from the imidazol-
2-ylidenes 1 and CS2. 3c reacts with bromine to give the cationic brom
osulfane 4, whereas iodine forms the charge-transfer adduct 5. Oxidati
ve coupling to the dicationic disulfane 6 is observed with excess of i
odine. The X-ray structure analyses of 3b, 4, 5 and 6 are reported.
