Abstract
Insertion of isocyanides into the Pd-C bond has been observed in the r eactions of PdBr[C6H3(CH(2)NMe(2))(2)-2,6] with isocyanides CNR which give the complexes PdBr[C(=NR)C6H3(CH(2)NMe(2))(2)-2,6-C,N] (CNR) (2a- d). An imino bridged complex 5 is formed on heating the imino complex PdCl[C(=NCH(2)CO(2)Et) (C6H4(CH(2)NMe(2))-2)] (CNCH(2)CO(2)Et). The st ructures of 2c (R = nBu) and 5 have been determined by X-ray crystallo graphy.
