This paper is focussed on the biological treatability studies of pulpi
ng effluents from a hemp-based pulp and paper industry. Experiments we
re conducted by using white fungus, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, in a
laboratory batch reactor. It was found that the colour removal efficie
ncy is 75% for pulping effluents in the presence of high concentration
s of glucose.
