SIMILARITY IN CHEMISTRY

Although qualitative and ill-defined in its nature, the concept of sim ilarity played an important role in the formulation of many basic conc epts and notions of chemistry. The revival of the interest in the use of similarity ideas in chemistry arises from the recent efforts at fin ding the quantitative measures of molecular alikeness. The application s of these quantitative similarity measures in various fields of chemi stry are reviewed.
