Abstract
(Cd2.06FeFe0.44II)-Fe-III(P2O7)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic spac e group C222(1) with Fe-III in a distorted octahedral environment [ave rage Fe-O 2.05 (1) Angstrom] and Fe-II sharing sites with Cd atoms in two sites of sixfold coordination [average Cd/Fe-O 2.20(1) Angstrom]. Two further Cd atoms show sixfold coordination with average Cd-O 2.31( 1) Angstrom.
