Abstract
The molecule is planar to within 0.2 Angstrom with a C(4)-C(7)-C(s)-C( 9) torsion angle of - 179 (2)degrees. The charge-transfer axis lies al ong the line joining the N atom at one end of the molecule to the O at om at the other. The final crystal structure is the result of complica ted interplay between the short-range van der Waals interactions and t he long-range dipole-dipole interactions, making the crystal highly po larized.
