Abstract
The title compound, C8H5ClN2O, crystallized with two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The geometries of the independent molecules are simil ar to within 2 sigma limits and closely resemble the geometries observ ed for unsubstituted and 1-alkyl-substituted 4(1H)-cinnolinones. Packi ng is determined by the planarity of the molecules and by two intermol ecular hydrogen bonds, which join molecules into infinite chains runni ng along [001].
