The title compound, C11H13NOSe, is a derivative of ebselen, an organos
elenium compound which exhibits anti-inflammatory activity. The aim of
the modification of the ebselen molecular structure is to increase th
e solubility of the compound without modifying the pharmacological pro
perties. The Se-N bond [1.859(5)Angstrom] is included in a six-membere
d ring, which has a boat conformation. The value of the C-Se-N angle i
s 95.2(2)degrees. The cohesion of the crystal is the result of van der
Waals interactions.
