S. Gangopadhyay et al., ELECTROCHEMICAL CORROSION STUDY OF HIGH MOMENT THIN-FILM HEAD MATERIALS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 30(6), 1994, pp. 3918-3920
An electrochemical corrosion study of high moment, magnetically soft F
eXN (X=metal) thin film head materials is presented. Potentiodynamic a
nodic polarization in aqueous 0.5M NaCl and 0.25M Na2SO4 solutions is
studied for qualitative and quantitative measures of corrosion charact
eristics. The effect of annealing, composition, and a comparison with
Permalloy and Fe thin films are also presented. A drastic improvement
in corrosion characteristics result in the samples made with N-2 flow
rate > 10 sccm.
