Pm. Sollis et al., TRANSVERSE SUSCEPTIBILITY AND REMANENCE CHARACTERISTICS OF BARIUM FERRITE HAND SPREAD COATINGS AS A FUNCTION OF MILLING TIME, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 30(6), 1994, pp. 4101-4103
Transverse susceptibility measurements have been carried out on a seri
es of hand spread coatings made from a barium ferrite dispersion as a
function of milling time. In the initial stages of the dispersion the
anisotropy peak was suppressed. This could be attributed to the variat
ion of the internal field in individual barium ferrite particles. As s
tacking developed in the system during dispersion, the anisotropy peak
became more pronounced. The position of the maximum also moved to hig
her fields consistent with a change in shape anisotropy contribution.
