Abstract
In this paper, we use Newton's method to compute intrinsic permeabilit y from measured or extrinsic permeability in soft ferromagnetic materi als. We first solve the non-linear intrinsic permeability equation, th en we evaluate solution sensitivity with respect to experimental input data. We show that measured data are excellent starting points for th e first Newton iteration, leading to an almost sure convergence.
