Abstract
Optical potentials for Lambda and Sigma scattering off nuclei are deve loped based on a global nucleon-nucleus Dirac optical potential and th e constituent-quark-model values of the meson-baryon coupling constant s. The differential cross section and analyzing power are calculated f or a few energies and nuclei. The tenser coupling has a large effect o n the predictions for the analyzing power.
