This pape presents a synthesis of results obtained during different me
asuring campaigns that were conducted in the Niamey area (Niger). Thes
e campaigns concerned the study of the atmospheric boundary layer and
the surface layer. This synthesis focuses on the measurement of the en
ergy budget and related problems. The effect of dust haze on the clima
tic parameters and on the energy budget components is shown and figure
s as an original contribution in this work. The radiative contribution
to the heat flux in the surface layer is also indicated. Finally, pra
ctical conclusions are drawn concerning the generalization of fixed po
int measurements from regional integration by means of airborne measur
ements.
