B. Thiebaut et al., ANNUAL CLASSIFICATION OF BEECH SEEDLINGS (FAGUS-SYLVATICA L) IN AN EVEN-AGED, 18-YEAR-OLD AND NATURAL BEECH REGENERATION, Annales des Sciences Forestieres, 49(2), 1992, pp. 133-147
In an even-aged 18-year-old natural beech regeneration, the height gro
wth of young plants has been analysed on the main stem under 3 dayligh
t intensities: full-light, half-light and shade. The structure showed
3, 2 and 1 layer(s) respectively under these light conditions. The ann
ual classification of seedlings according to their total height over a
n 18-year period was found to be influenced by light conditions and vi
gour at 18 years old, but not by the structure of the regeneration.
