Radioluminescence (self-luminescence) of Am(III) in Cs2NaLu(Am)Cl6 (10
% 241 Am) is studied. Luminescence of Eu(III) in Cs2NaLu(Am, Eu)Cl6 (1
0% 241 Am, 1% Eu) excited by the alpha-decay of Am is recorded. A feat
ure of the radioluminescence of both Am(III) and Eu(III) is its origin
in f-f-transitions. The spectra were taken at 298 and 77 K. Questions
related to the spectral composition and intensity and the mechanism o
f energy transfer from Am(III) to Eu(III) are discussed.
