Abstract
The thermodynamics of U sorption on Thermoxide-5 from 20 to 65-degrees -C with various initial [U] (from 2.6.10(-5) to 8.4.10(-4) M) in marin e-type carbonate solution at pH = 7.85 is studied during sorption-deso rption cycles. The entropy, enthalpy, and free energy of U sorption ch ange from cycle to cycle. The sorption is found to occur in two steps consisting of reversible (ion-exchange) and irreversible (chemosorptio n) steps.
