Abstract
We demonstrate numerically that the constancy of M(v)2 - M(p)2 for non -self-conjugate mesons leads to constancy of the sum of constituent qu ark masses, irrespective of the value of power-beta on r in the quark- confining potentials V = ar(beta) (beta = 1, 2, 0.3). Interestingly, u sing PCAC it has been shown by others that similar relations hold for current quark masses too. We try to give some physical interpretation of these numerical results.
