HUMAN PLASMA DERIVATIVES - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

This is a review of development of technology for fractionation of hum an blood plasma into derivatives for clinical use. Advantages and disa dvantages of the original cryoethanol method by Cohn and procedures de rived from this method are compared with the more recent procedures. P articularly emphasized are problems related to contamination of plasma derivatives with pathogenic viruses.
