Br. Smoller, IMMUNOPEROXIDASE TECHNIQUES IN THE EVALUATION OF CUTANEOUS LYMPHOCYTIC INFILTRATES, Seminars in cutaneous medicine and surgery, 15(4), 1996, pp. 300-307
The widespread availability of immunoperoxidase technology and antibod
y probes over the past 15 years has changed the discipline of dermatop
athology. In no aspect is this more evident than in the microscopic st
udy of cutaneous lymphoid infiltrates. In the following review, the di
scussion focuses on some of the ways in which immunophenotyping is use
d to enhance the diagnosis of cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders.
A strategy for the use of immunophenotyping in some common clinical s
ituations is forwarded. The immunopathologic findings can be helpful i
n resolving problems in the differential diagnosis of lymphoma and mim
ics of lymphoma. Copyright (C) 1996 by W.B. Saunders Company.
