The problem of temporal soliton propagation in a nonlinear Kerr medium
with natural optical activity is considered. The evolution of the sta
te of polarization of the soliton is described using the Stokes parame
ters. It is shown that due to the balance between the nonlinear optica
l activity and linear gyrotropy a special class of stationary elliptic
ally polarized solitons appears.
