Abstract
Orthovanadate delayed accumulation of mRNAs encoding phenylalanine amm onia-lyase and chalcone synthase in pea epicotyls induced by an elicit or from Mycosphaerella pinodes. However, accumulation of mRNA for a pu tative P-type ATPase was not affected. The relationship between the AT Pase and defense responses is discussed.
