A case of bilateral adrenal tumoral formation associated with Addison'
s disease is reported, and the possible cause of this association is d
iscussed. The short-term deleterious course of metastatic malignancies
, haemopathies or severe infections when left without specific treatme
nt, and the long-term course of our patient's tumoral pathology exclud
ed these diagnoses. The spontaneous regression of a bilateral pseudotu
moral mass was suggestive of 2 causes: haematoma or tuberculosis. Haem
atoma was unlikely in the absence of causal factors, and this, combine
d with the slow regression of the adrenals, made tuberculosis the most
probable diagnosis. The few similar cases found in the literature are
reviewed.
