Sm. Fox et Rg. Machon, USE OF DOUBLE HOOK PLATES TO CORRECT BILATERAL TIBIAL DEFORMITY IN A BORZOI, The Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, 28(2), 1992, pp. 125-128
A one-year-old male borzoi was presented with 17-degrees and 12-degree
s lateral deformity to the left and right distal tibia respectively, w
hich negated its intended use for show. Both limbs were straightened b
y a varus wedge osteotomy technique. Rigid internal fixation was achie
ved with a small amount of distal bone segment by the use of an A.O. d
ouble hook plate. Six months following surgery, the dog showed normal
rear limb conformation.
