Sk. Fooshee et al., PERSISTENT HEMATURIA SECONDARY TO A LOWER URINARY-TRACT FOREIGN-BODY IN A CAT, The Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, 28(2), 1992, pp. 167-169
A five-year-old neutered male Persian cat was referred for evaluation
of persistent stranguria, pollakiuria, and hematuria. The cat had expe
rienced several episodes of lower urinary tract obstruction. All thera
peutic efforts had been unsuccessful in eliminating clinical signs. A
contrast urethrogram performed following referral demonstrated the pre
sence of a lower urinary tract foreign body. Complete resolution of cl
inical signs was achieved following surgical removal of the foreign bo
dy.
