Cyclic voltammetry was used to study the behavior of polymer films obt
ained by electrochemically initiated polymerization of N,N-dimethylani
line (PDMA films) and N,N-diethylaniline (PDEA films) on glassy carbon
electrodes in 0.05 M H2SO4. It was shown that the PDMA and PDEA films
are able to concentrate and retain polyvalent anions. The formal char
ge diffusion coefficients in the films were calculated, and found to b
e 2.8.10(-9) cm2/s for PDMA and 2.7.10(-10) cm2/s for PDEA. Marked int
rinsic electroactivity was found in the PDMA and PDEA films.
