The mechanism and kinetics during kraft pulping of Amur silver grass w
ere studied. The relationships between KMnO4 number and lignin content
in pulp, effective alkali concentration and cooking temperature, effe
ctive alkali concentration and KMnO4 number were derived. The activati
on energy was calculated. The relative rate constants at various tempe
ratures were also derived. Then, the relationships between the H - fac
tor and the initial concentration of effective alkali, yield and hardn
ess of pulp were derived in formulas.
