Tbt. Ha et al., SYNTHESIS OF TRANS-LODO(PYRIDINE)PLATINUM(II) COMPLEXES FROM THE CIS ISOMERS BY REACTION WITH DIMETHYL-SULFOXIDE, Journal of chemical research. Synopses, (3), 1992, pp. 112-113
Dimethyl sulfoxide (dmso) substitutes one pyridine or substituted pyri
dine (Xpy = pyridine, 4-methylpyridine, 3,5-dimethylpyridine or 4-cyan
opyridine) from cis-[Pt(Xpy)2l2] to form trans-[Pt(Xpy)(dmso)l2] compl
exes, the dmso then being displaced in situ by Xpy or by X'py to give
trans-[Pt(Xpy)2l2, or [Pt(Xpy)(X'py)l2] or [Pt(X'py)2l2]; the trans st
ructure was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy (Pt-H coupling constants and
Pt-195 chemical shifts).
