Abstract
The composition of the solvation shell of chloropentaamminecobalt(III) was investigated for water + dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mixtures usin g the Gibbs free energy of transfer and PMR solvent line broadening da ta. Strong evidence was found for the formation or solvated species wi th a chloropentethyl sulfoxide molecule in the solvation shell, which substantiates a previous conclusion concerning the existence of such s pecies.
