Abstract
A sooty mangabey monkey (Cercocebus atys) was inoculated with Mycobact erium leprae and developed borderline lepromatous leprosy and intraneu ral erythema nodosum leprosum. Previously studied mangabeys have devel oped only disseminated lepromatous leprosy without reactions. This cas e broadens the spectrum of leprosy seen in experimentally inoculated a nimals and further characterizes the nonhuman primate model of leprosy .
