ANALYSIS OF MULTICOMPONENT SPECTRA BY THE SIMPLEX-METHOD

The Simplex method to simultaneously identify and quantify the compone nts of complex mixtures from their UV-visible spectra is used. Calibra tion was performed by using a data base containing the spectra of the pure components potentially present. The method for selection of compo nents from the data base was developed on the basis of binary mixtures of dyes and was subsequently applied to the resolution of binary, ter nary and quaternary mixtures of active principles in pharmaceutical fo rmulations.
